Today is my roommate Maggie's 21st birthday and we're going to a local restaurant to celebrate. Unfortunately, I will be the only person present under 21. Only 3 more years to go!
I love ironing. I find it very satisfying to make all the wrinkles in an article of clothing disappear.
I waste so much time sifting though junk e-mail. I feel like this is one of those things where if I were to add up all the time I spend sorting through and deleting junk e-mails, I would feel even more frustrated by thoughts of things I could be spending that time on.
I'm not going to lie, I'm probably not the most eloquent blogger any of you out there have ever come across. What can I say? I am better at expressing myself with images than with words.
Mallory is leaving today, and I am going to miss her so much. It got me thinking about how travel (especially by air) has made life move so much faster. I can only imagine how long it took to cross the country by foot, or horse, back before we had technology such as cars and airplanes. But then again, people didn't usually travel as far (except in times of war, I suppose.)
I went into the kitchen in my apartment today to put away groceries and had to spend about 20 years trying to organize all the shelves in the cabinets so that there would be room for my stuff. I'd just like to take this moment to thank my mother for always being impeccably organized.
When it's hot enough, even air conditioning can't save you. These are the times when I like to sit down directly in front of my big box fan and turn it on full blast.
Yesterday Tweed and I completed our second double-clean cross-country ride to finish in 4th place and offically complete the qualifications for Preliminary level. We won't be testing those waters for a while (we're working on qualifying for the Training level 3-Day that will run in October) but the accomplishment still feels pretty good.
This weekend I'm running Training level at the Rubicon Farm Horse Trials. Preliminary and Novice run all three phases today, and Training and Beginner-Novice run tomorrow. Today, I will be groom (aka slave) for Kibbie, Gammon, Tori, and Sarah. Should be a lot of hurry up and wait, as that's what grooming is usually like.
You know, they say that April Showers bring May Flowers. This year, Virginia wanted to switch things up a bit it would seem. Instead of April Showers, we had April Freezing Cold. Instead of May Flowers, we had May/June Thunder Storms/Pouring Rain. Fun fun fun!
